Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Show nearby quiet places on the map
• Verify your proximity when confirming or updating a place's status

We do not track your location in the background.

Push Notification Tokens

If you enable notifications, we store your device push token to send you relevant updates about places you've saved.

2. How We Use Your Information

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal bases for processing your data under the GDPR include your consent (for location and notifications), the performance of our contract (to provide the App's core features), and our legitimate interest (to improve the App, analyze usage, and prevent fraud).

3. Data Sharing & Storage

All our databases are hosted within the European Union. We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Firebase (Google) — for authentication and database storage
• Sentry — for crash reporting (anonymized device and error data)
• Expo — for push notification delivery
• OS Mapping Services (Apple Maps / Google Maps) — to display the interactive map within the App. Their use is subject to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.

External Navigation Apps: If you request directions to a location, we pass the destination coordinates to the third-party navigation app of your choice (e.g., Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps). Once you open these external apps, your data is governed by their respective privacy policies.

4. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated personal data directly within the App settings, or by requesting deletion at privacy@quietspot.app.

Please note: When you delete your account, your personally identifiable information is permanently removed. However, your public contributions (such as places you added or occupancy feedback) may remain on the platform in a completely anonymized format to keep the service functional for other users.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for location access or notifications at any time via device settings
• Lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority if you reside in the EEA

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CCPA. • HTTPS encryption for all API communications
• Server-side input validation and rate limiting

Our App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
